Where the hell did I go?

Damn, I ain't blogged since Election Day lol. I guess obviously there was some important event that happened that day and the days thereafter, me? I just been chillin, I wrapped up my project titled the wishlist, but I now know that the music is the easy part, because its almost Christmas and that was supposed to be released on Thanksgiving, but the album art is holding it up. A weird twist of events, my original idea was snatched away from me lol by some other DJ and I had to start from scratch. Besides that, umm I been working and having a blast meeting new people. Oh yea R.I.P. Gerald Williams...great man right there. Oh! I'm moving out of mom's crib LOL! Thats pretty much the biggest news. Besides that man just grinding makin music trying to learn new things every day in all aspects of life. Stay on the lookout I promise I got some things brewing!

Today is the day

Today is the day that history will be made, this is the day I'll be able to explain to lil Choo Choo, and my children and their children. I have voted in one of the most important elections in anyones lifetime let alone mines. It is time for a change in America, and although it won't come overnight, I do believe that Barack Obama is the catalyst for the country, but especially for African-Americans mentally. Barack Obama, a black man, is running for President, and later on down the line, young children will say Barack Obama, a black man, IS President, there is no reason why I can't strive to finish school, or whatever goals they might have. This is about more than a Presidency, this, to me, is about my people reaching their maximum potential, and then some, no excuses, no BS. Yes We Can is way deeper than a 3 word slogan. OBAMA 0H EIGHT!

Oh yea, The WishList is coming soon...

Man I had a fun filled weekend at A&M with my LB. Real proud of him for going ahead and knocking out his masters especially at a big university like Texas A&M. Then my TA boys came to Houston and we had a blast at the TSU Apes party. I fucks with them, they know how to throw a party! Anyways not much to update, just been working out and working on music, trying to progress in all aspects of life...Oh yea! My boy MidiMarc and his crew are nominated for several awards. MidiMarc is up for producer of the year, in the same category as Bangladesh ("A Milli" beat) so your support for him would be highly appreciated. Shoutout of to BOTH my cousins playin football on varsity in high school. My cousin James scored a touchdown and was voted Homecoming king, I know he lovin his senior year so far. My lil dude Chris scored his first varsity touchdown too...almost had two but got stripped at like the 1 yard line LOL. Anyways theres more where that came from. Speakin of Chris we back on the music shit...goin in and bangin out tracks, meeting with Ledjendary to figure out the best way to promote and get this project out there because I don't wanna be like that one dude that tried to sell me a CD at the mall, so if anybody wanna help and be apart of our unofficial street team let me know...I promise ya'll won't be vouchin no bullshit ass song...as a matter of fact i'll put up another joint for ya'll. What else is new...oh yea I been lookin for an apartment and its going alright I guess...besides that I'm just loving life and enjoying making music, and I'm just puttin my faith in God that he's gonna continue to bless me in whatever endeavors I pursue...

Playing the game

Damn its been a while! Just been enjoying the new job, making good music, havin fun times with the family, chillin wit my girl (yea I have a girlfriend now, crazy huh?). But yea on my mind right now is I guess what you call office politics. I love my new job, which makes me excel at the job I'm doing and causes me to become eager to learn more about the job, so all in all I'm going a pretty good job according to my supervisors and co-workers, and right now, thats all I care about impressing. I really feel that a person's performance, his rapport with his co workers, and his overall demeanor dictates how far he/she will go within the company. All throughout college I used to hear these tidbits of advice that I didn't agree with and now I will not adhere to them. I'm not going to take an executive out to lunch and rub shoulders with him/her in hopes of getting first dibs on a promotion, if the dress code is business casual, I'm going to dress business casual, if we wear jeans on fridays, then shit I'ma wear jeans on fridays! I go above and beyond with the work I do, not in how well I kiss ass, or how EXTRA I dress. For wearing a suit and tie while everyone else is wearing jeans and kissing ass does not equal to productivity. If I can't move up in the corporate world by just bustin my ass day in and day out at work and being punctual and not getting into disputes with coworkers, then FUCK it you know i'm just one hit away © Jay-Z from getting this music shit goin anyways. I guess the lesson for today is stay true to yourself and believe in God. My faith in God that I will succeed is more important than any windsor knot and slacks.

Inspiration

Well shit its been a while...I started my new job today, I think I'ma enjoy my time there. The parking is expensive, but everything else seems to be a1. I spent the weekend at my alma mater Jarvis Christian College. Shout out to TA Apes for throwing the crunkest party that school has seen this year thus far. I'm glad everybody was happy to see me, and I missed college for like one day, then I was like fucc this I'm glad I'm gone. Although their new dormitories are the shit forreal! And I got the spend time with a special female friend (you ain't got nothin to worry about) This is in addition to kickin it with my niggas A.P. Huff and D. Cokes and also givin my nigga J. Will a hard time lol.

My nigga Laron at the school holdin it down with his new music getting good responses and I'm glad to be associated with what he's doin. I got 4 beats on the project he's been pushin, and the nigga is talented. So a lot of people I believe have been questioning me and what exactly do I do. How do I get inspired? I mean how does some young nigga from Fort Worth, TX make beats that DON'T sound like the stanky leg or the dirty booty or the booty meat or whatever dance is out now. Well shit for one I'm inspired by good music PERIOD. Listening to old D' Angelo will make me wanna step my drum game up. Listening to old Lauryn Hill will make me want my beats to sound more whole. Some producers challenge me to go above and beyond and really make some good shit such as Alchemist, 9th Wonder, and most recently Black Milk. I just appreciate how these niggas flip samples in their own way. Some of my colleagues in this shit help me get inspired too. My dude MidiMarc (midimarc.blogspot.com) got this fresh produce shit he's been doin where he's givin out beats for the LOW, I mean LOW even lower than I was given em at my lowest lol, so any of you rappers that need beats that are on point but don't have the pockets holla at that nigga cuz I ain't doin that shit lol! My niggaz Nom and Soze trade beats with me and make me wanna step my shit up too...Biggie's, Jay's and Nas' (first album + Premo collabs) make me wanna step my game up too, so basically I'm inspired by dope music...A Dot McCray

Can I Live?

My mind is infested, with sick thoughts that circle
like a Lexus, if driven wrong it's sure to hurt you
Dual level like duplexes, in unity, my crew and me
commit atrocities like we got immunity
You guessed it, manifest it in tangible goods
Platinum Rolexed it, we don't lease
we buy the whole car, as you should
My confederation, dead a nation, EXPLODE
on detonation, overload the mind of a said patient
When it boils to steam, it comes to it
we all fiends gotta do it, even righteous minds go through this
True this, history school us to spend our money foolish
Bond with jewelers and, watch for intruders
I stepped it up another level, meditated like a buddhist
Recruited lieutenants with ludicrous, dreams of
gettin cream let's do this, against tee-dee-us
So I keep one eye open like, C-B-S, ya see me
stressed right? Can I live?

Yea...life is great...
